NEW MEXICO AGATES
Included here are examples of agates collected from the areas around Luna and Apache Creek, New Mexico. I've found that most of the agate that comes from these areas isn't especially colorful, but does have nice banding, snowflakes, tubes, & some good plume. Most colors I've found tend to be gray, black, brown, blue, white, & sometimes slightly pink or a little bit of red. Unfortunately, I've been lax in my cutting duties, so I don't have much in the way of cut pieces to show, mostly just rough for now.
I have tried to represent the colors of the agates as accurately as possible. The unpolished ones are shown wet, & where I have had to adjust the colors to correct for bad lighting or shiny surfaces, I kept them as faithful to the originals as I possibly could
